WHAT IS SEPSIS?

WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION "WHO" description of SEPSIS: A life-threatening condition in which the body is fighting a severe infection that has spread via the bloodstream. If a patient becomes "septic," likely have low blood pressure; it leads to poor circulation, and a lack of blood perfusion of vital tissues and organs. The condition is termed "shock" and sometimes referred to as "septic shock" the body's reaction causes damage to its own tissues and organs. Early detection is key to saving a patient's life. People who are older, very young, pregnant or have other health problems are at a higher risk. Common signs of "SEPSIS" include fever, or low temperature, shivering, chills, confusion, high heart rate, difficulty breathing, clammy, sweaty skin, extreme body pain, or discomfort, weak pulse, or low blood pressure, sleepiness, low urine output, body pain all over, can lead to septic shock, multiple organ failure, amputation or death. AFADD INC our non-profit promotes a new approach to SEPSIS AWARENESS. We believe comprehensive education, prevention and enhanced medical protocols are needed globally to stop "SEPSIS." Its reign has existed for over 2700 years and continues in the medical arena and in our communities to this day. My experience with the deadly disease called "SEPSIS" came on June 30, 2022, after reading my husband's summary release from the hospital, diagnosis, "Severe Sepsis" and UTI. We didn't know our lives would never be the same again! Perhaps, if we had known more and enhanced medical protocols were in place, in the hospital, a life, his life, would have been saved. I could not save him, I was helpless! EARLY DETECTION, IMMEDIATE and PROPER CARE ARE NECESSARY!
