Sepsis Awareness
Awareness Saves Lives
Sepsis is the body's overwhelming and life-threatening response to infection. It can arise from any infection — a urinary tract infection, a skin wound, pneumonia, or a surgical site. Without rapid recognition and treatment, sepsis progresses to septic shock, multiple organ failure, and death within hours.
Despite its deadly reach, sepsis remains one of the most under-recognised conditions in both clinical and community settings. Many patients and families have never heard the word 'sepsis' before a loved one is diagnosed — often too late. AFADDUSA exists to close that gap.
Our awareness campaigns reach patients, families, community organisations, schools, churches, and healthcare workers. We share the signs of sepsis, the importance of early action, and the stories of those whose lives have been touched by this disease — including the story of our founder, who lost her husband to severe sepsis in June 2022.
EARLY DETECTION, IMMEDIATE AND PROPER CARE ARE NECESSARY!
